Hey this community is dedicated to all who appreciate the beauty of Vellayani. Anyone can join this blog. There is no need to be a resident of vellayani. But the blog is mainly for those who love nature.Vellayani is a small place in Trivandrum district of Kerala. The Vellayani landscape and its un-spoilt beauty reflects the true rustic village life and scenes. Sunrise & sunsets are incredible and the view is breathtaking when the reflection falls on the water.

Vellayani Kayal  is the largest fresh water lake in Thiruvananthapuram district  of Kerala, India. It is around 9km away from the Thiruvananthapuram Central Bus /Railway Station at Thampanoor. Buses ply to Vellayani Lake from City Depot at East Fort also.

A road passes through this lake; a bund has been constructed for this purpose, travelling through that road is an  amazing experience. This lake attracts a lot of tourists. Once in Kovalam, a visitor should not allow to miss the opportunity to see the wonderful fresh water lake that still retains its beauty. Its crystal-clear calm water, especially during moonlit nights, is a craze for the minds. The locals say a side of the lake is Kochu Kovalam, meaning tiny Kovalam. Riding over the road that goes across the lake is an amazing experience itself.

Another fascinating scenery is from the arattukadavu, which is very near to vellayani lake.
This is another fascinating shot from the side of kakkamoola.

A morning that made us surprise to see all these fog filled vellayani ,really enjoyed the beauty of our little village.
